Latest reports show that due to the recession, online advertising has now overtaken spending on TV advertising. Digital advertising has become more popular for most businesses than traditional marketing due to cost and measurement of digital advertising is so much easier so businesses can really see how much return they’re getting from their online advertising. This doesn’t come as much surprise to me as I’ve always thought that online advertising was more cost effective than offline, but brands still need to ensure they’re visible in as many places as possible.
The stats don’t just include ads such as banner ads, but advertising in search engines (such as pay per click advertising), email campaigns, affiliate links and paid links.
